Biggs, Erin and I stopped by to stock up on our usual late night snack – chips and dip. Having made our way toward home from Friday night karaoke at Mr. incident three years ago, my favorite cashier at Five Brothers has called me Twinkie. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been short on cash (they have a $15 minimum for cards) and they’ve said without hesitation I could just pay them back whenever. There are plenty of other options for a quick bite or a can of corn in the neighborhood, but early in my NYC life I singled Five Brothers out as my favorite. Somehow the gourmet part eluded me all these years, as I have only patronized the brothers for junk food, diet sodas and tasty grilled cheeses. Open 24 hours a day, Five Brothers is part deli and part grocery, with overpriced $7 boxes of cereal and reasonable $3 sandwiches. and 10 th Avenue, you’ll find Five Brothers Gourmet Market. Stand up – be available to existing customers or get outside and get customers in the door.On the corner of West 47 th St. Most of the time they are sitting in the corner, at the bar, talking or eating. Management – Get your staff out of the bar seats. Sometimes we will get a great server, the next time we get someone who is cold inattentive and has an attitude. But it is impossible because they are always changing. For a local bar you want to get o know the staff and you want them to get to know you back. Management – What is up with the constant change of staff. Because of Laura we continued to frequent the bar, however lately it seams there is always a new server. No one wants to walk into an empty bar.įirst time I went there we were greeted with a great server “Laura” she made us feel like we have been going there for some time, even though it was only our first. You have a great sound system – it should be playing at all times. Sometimes you can walk by and it is empty and non-inviting because it is too quiet. Half the time the staff is standing around or sitting at the bar – have them stand outside and get people in the door by promoting the drink specials, karaoke night, whatever you got. Management – you have a prime location on a corner with great outdoor seating. Feeling of a local Bar and not touristy, which sometimes you can get being so close to Times Square. It is terrible when you order a drink, like it and next time it is totally different.įood – Food is average bar type food. Train bartenders to serve, poor and mix the same. Management – There should be more consistency in the drink making. However the drink specials are kinda of weak and the staff does not promote them or even tell you about them. They do have some happy hour specials like $5 margaritas that get people in the door. Very relaxed atmosphere.Great outdoor seating.ĭrinks – Average Drinks. It is a local bar that serves bar type food. Mr Biggs located in Hell’s Kitchen on 44th street and 10th Avenue
